BN Shipyard signs RM41 million contract with TKS
On 13 November 2006, Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BN Shipyard) signed a RM41 million contract with Tanjung Kapal Services Sdn Bhd (TKS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tanjung Offshore Bhd (TOB) for the engineering, construction, testing and delivery of a 60-metre-60-tonne bollard pull Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel.
The contract was signed by YBhg Dato’ Seri Ahmad Ramli Hj Mohd Nor, Managing Director of BN Shipyard and Tn Hj Omar bin Khalid, Chairman of TKS and Managing Director of TOB in a ceremony held at BN Shipyard’s headquarters in Lumut.
After the signing, a keel laying ceremony was held to mark the physical activities of the AHTS shipbuilding at the yard. The keel laying activity which involved the joining of two plates was witnessed by both parties from BN Shipyard and TKS. The vessel is expected for delivery by the first quarter of 2009.
BN Shipyard, formerly known as PSC Naval Dockyard Sdn Bhd is involved in the naval shipbuilding, ship repair, engineering and maritime activities. Recently, BN Shipyard delivered two patrol vessels to the Royal Malaysian Navy.
